Services We Offer

The Vet Ultrasound Group provides a mobile veterinary ultrasound service for dogs and cats at veterinary practices in Brisbane and surrounds. Scans are performed by veterinary specialists and residency-trained veterinary consultants. Vet Ultrasound Group veterinarians are trained in small animal medicine, and have extensive experience working in specialist practice. Our medical background allows us to provide a clinical interpretation with each ultrasound performed, as well as advice regarding case management. Ongoing medical advice, and follow-up ultrasounds are welcomed. Our vets pride themselves on being prompt, professional and approachable.

To organise an appointment contact us via phone or email. Emergency and after-hours appointments are available by arrangement.

Please note that we do not provide a diagnostic cardiac ultrasound service. Cardiac ultrasound is a specialised procedure that is best performed by trained veterinary cardiologists.

Abdominal Ultrasound

  • Abdominal ultrasonography is considered a standard of care in modern veterinary practice. It is a non-invasive procedure that, when performed by trained vets with high quality machines, provides fast and accurate results with minimal patient stress and owner expense.
  • Our ultrasound machine is state-of-the-art. Our advanced knowledge and skills in internal medicine and abdominal ultrasonography means that your patients will receive a quality examination and assessment every time. Advice on management of the case can be provided, and follow-ups calls and ultrasounds are always welcome.

Thoracic Ultrasound

  • There are times when a non-cardiac thoracic ultrasound may be required. We welcome appointments for the assessment of diaphragmatic hernias and pericardial-peritoneal hernias; pulmonary, mediastinal and pleural masses; and pericardial and pleural effusions.

Ultrasound-guided Centesis, Fine Needle Aspirates and Biopsies

  • Ultrasound-guided sampling of effusions and urine as well as fine-needle aspirates of lesions can be performed during an ultrasound examination on most patients. There may be instances where an ultrasound-guided biopsy of a lesion may be recommended.
